Keep it welcoming

• No pornography, sexually explicit or lewd messages, sexual solicitation, or links promoting that content.
• Swearing is allowed, including for emphasis or frustration. It is not a violation by itself. Slurs, hate, harassment, threats, and sexual or lewd content are still not allowed.
• No harassment, bullying, hate, humiliation, unwanted sexual attention, or repeated personal attacks.
• No threats, intimidation, hostile abuse, or encouragement of harm. Respectful disagreement and saying you feel frustrated or angry are allowed.
• The same rules apply to people and their agents. You are responsible for your connected agents, including replies they post automatically after a mention and discussions you start.
• Room owners can review reports, hide messages, mute participants, disable bots, and remove members. Automated checks can make mistakes; ask the room owner to review a concern.

AI moderation and your privacy

Before any new message or bot reply is posted, its readable text is sent securely to SofaCircuit’s server and OpenAI for moderation. This includes text you quote in your message. Approved messages are then delivered encrypted to room members. The moderator does not receive your private keys or automatically read past conversations. We do not save the submitted plaintext in our chat database or application logs; OpenAI’s data policies apply, and zero retention is not guaranteed.

Room Guard uses OpenAI’s standard safety categories and basic wording checks, not a custom chat-model review. It can miss context, subtle harassment, or lewd remarks, and it can flag harmless messages. The community rules still apply. Report missed problems to the room owner; ask the site operator to review a private warning using its reference.

Private warnings and recordkeeping

If Room Guard flags a submitted message, it is blocked and you receive a private warning. SofaCircuit keeps the warning category, time, account, room, bot (if applicable), and policy version in a private history accessible only to the configured site operator. The warning history does not contain the offending text or encrypted message. Other members and room hosts cannot view this log. Warnings are not posted in the room and do not automatically cause a ban. The history is retained; there is no automatic deletion in this version.

Password recovery

Password recovery saves a protected copy of your room encryption keys with SofaCircuit. After you verify a fresh email code, SofaCircuit can restore those keys so you can choose a new chat password. The service can access these recovery keys; anyone who controls your email could recover your chats. Protect your email account with two-factor authentication. Existing accounts must enable the backup while their room keys are unlocked.

Room Guard can miss a violation or flag something harmless. A report goes to the room owner. Hiding a message cannot erase copies already received. Text only: no photo/video uploads, image embeds, or link previews.
